Using Drag & Drop to create a translation project

You can use Drag & Drop to create a translation project. Just drag a source file (e.g. a Word document) or a folder with source files on the Program Manager.

Show it to me in a video.

If you want to try this yourself, you can download the example documents here.

Creating a translation project

  • Unzip Job123.zip to your Desktop.
  • Start CafeTran.
  • Tick the New Project Glossary checkbox.
  • Tick the New Project Memory checkbox.
  • Drag the folder ‘Job123’ anywhere on the Project Manager dialogue box.
  • In the Project Info dialogue box, adjust the settings for the Source language and Target language fields.

PLEASE NOTE: Write down the path in the Project Location… field, for later reference. That way it will be easy to find the glossary and translation memory that you create during your translation session.

The default location will be in the current user's ‘home’ directory + Projects subdirectory, such as C:\Users\Fred\Projects\ on Windows systems, or /home/fred/Projects/ on UNIX-like systems.
