CafeTran runs on Java. So you will have to check whether Java is already installed on your computer. You can do this by searching for ‘About Java’.
First click on the Search icon:
Then type ‘About Java’ and hit Enter:
If you can open the About Java dialogue box, then Java is already installed on your computer:

You can now proceed to ‘First look’ below.
If Java isn't installed on your computer, you should check your Windows version and the amount of RAM memory that you have. Navigate to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > System:
If you have a 64-bit Windows version and more than 4 gigabyte of RAM installed, make sure that you install the 64-bit version of Java:
- Google for ‘Java SE Runtime Environment 7 Downloads’.
- Look for this section:
- Download: Windows x64 29.55 MB jre-7u60-windows-x64.exe (note that instead of ‘u60’ you can see a more recent update).
- Install Java 7 on your computer.
